Nate was the CFO of an INC500 fastest-growing company when he got a call that their funding source was closing its doors. Within 90 days of that call, the company he worked for filed for bankruptcy. Disruption happens to all of us, so when you are faced with a life transition, Nate can tell you from experience that you have to accept responsibility, assume a defensive position, keep your head up, and persevere. Nate’s goal is to prepare you to respond just as he trained his soldiers to respond to unseen dangers on the battlefield. Nate’s disruption created the lowest point in his life. He thought, “How could I be a successful businessman and be broke—financially and personally?” His marriage was ending, and for the first time since walking the perimeter during Operation Desert Storm, Nate was unsure if he was going to make it out alive. He thought, “How could this have happened to me? I was too smart and too educated and too good at what I did to be nearly bankrupt—financially and personally.” There is a feeling of embarrassment and sometimes you feel like a failure. Nate’s life was out of alignment, and he figured out that something was really wrong with the way he was living. Fortunately, he was able to make it through his disruptions to freedom by learning and applying the principles he shares through his principle-centered, Biblically-based leadership proprietary Life Is Rich System.
